SUHUM MCE GIVES “LIFE” TO YAW BOADI COMMUNITY

“Water is life” they say, The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah has again emulated the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo by delivering on her promise by commissioning and handed over a bore hole to the people of Yaw Boadi community.

It could be recalled that the Hon mce as part of her promise to get in touch with her people, embarked on a familiarisation tour to inspect ongoing developmental projects in her municipality. The exercise took her to a small community upon a hint from the area Assembly Member to come to their aid and help them get portable water. The Hon MCE was touched to find their source of water which was even shared with their domestic animals and promised to provide the community with potable water.

The Hon MCE is very grateful to Nana Kwasi Gyampo, the Nkosoo Hene of Suhum Okorase and a philanthropist, a pilot of American Airlines, for coming to the aid of the mother and helped construct a borehole to serve the people of Yaw Boadi community.

Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah entreated the community to have faith in her administration and for that matter Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo’s government for they are bent on delivering on their promises. She also assured them of their fair share of the national grid as they shall soon see light in the community. She admitted that, their roads need rehabilitation and promised to work on it as soon as possible to make the road better than it is currently.

The Hon MCE took advantage of the commissioning of the borehole to entreat other civil society organisations, churches and individuals within the Municipality and beyond to emulate Nana Kwasi Gyampo and come to the aid of the Assembly to help combat such basic human challenges to improve the living standards of mankind.

The Municipal works engineer advised that proper care must be taken to increase the life span of the facility.

The contractor, Mr Kwao assured that the facility if the culture of maintenance is practiced can last for over hundred years.

The Chief, Odikiro Michael Agblevor expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the community. According to him some illed meant persons told the community that the promise made by the Hon MCE was just a political talk, but they have indeed realized that Hon Margaret Darko Darkwah keeps to her promise. Women and children sung and danced to express their joy for having potable water in the community.
