Nia Jax Reveals Why She Took a Leave of Absence in October
Nia Jax has added another wrinkle to a story that caught the pro wrestling world off guard last October. To sum it up, Jax missed a handful of Monday night Raw dates back in 2017 and the reasons exactly why she was off TV varied from week to week.
The first reason was Jax was taking a planned leave absence and there was nothing to see here. Then rumors surfaced that was Jax was unhappy with the creative direction of her character, and with some nudging from her cousin The Rock, walked away from the WWE for the time being.
Another reason for Jax missing dates was she needed to recharge her batteries after months of touring.
Speaking with Pop Culture in a new interview, Jax gave another side to the story of her time off or leave of absence from the WWE.
First Jax shot down rumors of The Rock’s involvement.
“That was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard! The fact that people would think that Dwayne would ever tell me to not do something for the WWE, a place that’s actually given him his start and the reason he is on top of the world, it’s completely false and hilarious.”
Jax would then explain a possible injury she suffered while traveling.
“It has nothing to do with that at all. It wasn’t something that was that big of a deal. I had actually had an injury that happened to me personally on a flight—an overhead bag fell directly on top of my head while I was on a plane. I was out of it, I was completely out of it. I’m not kidding you.”
